Angora Pinnacles 1-15-17

Headed out to the icy gorge Sunday…got as far as the Starbucks next to the Gateway P&R. Over a cup of coffee, we discussed options… Icy wind chill in the gorge, deep snow wallow at Mt Hood…or rare sunshine in the coastal range? The coast range won the toss 🙂  It’s always fun to share the Angora Pinnacles to a new crowd. We got a late start, so not enough time for the “Grand Tour”, but we were able to tag both Angora Pinnacle, and the Revenge pinnacle. Beautiful sunny and warm (38) day in the coastal range. Today’s team was  myself, my lovely wife Deb, Elisabeth, Nat, and Keith.

Deb, Nat, and Keith descending the pinnacle scramble…

I’m sure the new guy was tasked with tying the bowline knot in this 1″ steel cable…then cinching it tight

On to the next pinnacle…The Revenge…

Our hike out…

Can you spot the Elk? If so, how many in the picture?
