It’s been almost 8-months since the last time I rappelled a waterfall and almost 6-months since my last back surgery. It felt good take that first step into the cold water with my canyoneering shoes, neoprene socks and wetsuit….
Last Sunday we dropped an unnamed short drainage we call BS Creek. Keith Campbell located this drainage several weeks prior and said it may have several falls that might be worthy of rappelling…
We were surprised with the snow falling Sunday morning, and the temps below freezing, although by the time we got into the creek the snow was quickly disappearing.
The approach from the road to the first rap was a bit of a thrash fest due to the logging practices of leaving all the small shit including branches small trees…etc.
We got in 5-raps from 22’ to 170’. This is a fun early season adventure drop. Summertime this drainage is probably just a trickle…
Today’s team…Karl, Keith, and Brad.
PS… My lovely wife Deb was with us, but unfortunately after putting on her wetsuit, she let out a sneeze that pulled something in her lower back…and was out for the day.
