Cathedral Rocks, Mount Jefferson Wilderness 10-19-14

Solo trip up into the Cathedral Rocks area, Mount Jefferson Wilderness. Second time up there, but first time tagging all four high points of Cathedral Rocks. There was nothing technical, but there was some stiff 4th class scrambling. I parked at the Pamelia Lake trailhead, hiked around the NE side of Pamelia Lake, up to Hunts Cove, past Hanks Lake , then up towards the south end of the Cathedral Rocks. Scaled all four rock masses. I then cross country’d back west along the cliffs near Shale and Coyote Lake, before dropping back down to the trail…and back to the truck. This route is a fun one, a 16-mile x 4000’ gain trek. 10-hours truck to truck. It includes nice trail walking, some cross country thrash, and some really fun 4th class scrambling.
