As everyone else probably figured out, with this past weekends weather forecast, the best time to get outside and play was Saturday before noon. I decided to spend the weekend at the cabin, so I was in great position to tag Dome Rock Saturday morning, just before the heavy rains moved in. As expected the views were good to the east, but pretty dark to the west. I took the trail that starts at Hwy 22. The trail is in good condition, and was very pleasant until I started post holing at about 3900′. The snowshoes that I packed worked well from there to the summit…although I did dry-shoe it over rock a few times. I got back to the truck just as the rains started…which never stopped for the rest of the weekend.
