Harrison Peak…
We got a look at Harrison Peak, from Twin Peaks a couple days before. It was hard to tell what the scramble route looked like. It looked a bit gnarly from there.
Along the way we stopped at Harrison Lake for a quick break. The view of Harrison Peak from the lake, looked like a giant wave turned to stone.
After following the trail for a bit more, we went cross-country, through the thick huckleberries, up and over the ridge that was blocking the view of the scramble route. After climbing the steep boulder field, we arrived at the base of the final scramble to the summit. The true summit is pretty airy, with nice views of the Selkirk’s and the area we were at the days before.
After a long break at the summit, we descended the peak and enjoyed a nice thrash through the huckleberry patch. So many berries…we almost made ourselves sick.
A fantastic day out with my lovely wife, Deb.
This one’s called Beehive Dome, a 1500′ smear…

The steep boulder field… Grippy granite makes it so much easier…

Fantastic. Bet you’re glad you’re now retired.
Glad I don’t have to go to work, but still having trouble getting an everyday routine down…
