Mount David Douglas…
From several high points in the area, Mount David Douglas looked interesting, so I found a good spot to park, for a cross-country route to the east summit (6255’) and then the west summit (6035’). Not much mileage or elevation gain, but a fun solo day out, with a bit of rock scrambling.
The crux of this adventure, was the last 1.7 miles to the parking spot. Without clearance and 4×4, you’ll want to park at the beginning of FR5883-500.
After this trip I ran up to Fuji Mountain from the upper trailhead, for the incredible view of Waldo Lake…
