Mount Stuart, via The West Ridge route….Classic! Beautiful chunk of granite. The West Ridge route is a technical scramble with a few pitches of mid 5th class climbing. It’s a long route, especially from Ingalls Lake, although Ingalls Lake is a beautiful camp…with a refreshing swim. We surely didn’t break any speed records, 18-hours camp to camp, but we did complete the route successfully. The team was myself, Chris, Marty, Mark, and Natasha.
First big look at Mount Stuart and Ingalls Lake (camp)…
3rd and 4th class scrambling up the couloir…
More traversing with Anvil Rock in the distance…
Off the summit navigating the blocky ridge…on our descent
