Nualolo Trail…
The trailhead to this trail was on the other side of our cabin door! Actually, the trailhead was just a half mile from the cabin we stayed in while on Kauai so we just walked it. This trail was mostly along a ridge with some really nice views leading out to a spectacular viewpoint 2000’ above the Napali Coastline. We watched, through binoculars, several boats come and go to a beach shelter below, taking a snorkeling break along the way. We were alone at our viewpoint for a couple of hours before heading back.
Beautiful day with my lovely wife Deb…
Along the trail through, although a beautiful plant, a very invasive species. This grows like our English Ivy…
Along the ridge, we started seeing Pine Trees…
Then the view opens up to the deep valleys of the Napali Coast.
Unfortunately we had to endure the constant helicopter fly-by’s, flying tourists up into the valleys.
People pay a lot of money to take a catamaran sailboat ride…IMHO, without the sails it’s just another boat ride…
2000′ below us was what appeared to be a popular stop for the tourist boats to come and hang out at a shelter, and do a little snorkeling near the reef. It was interesting to watch the process though the binoculars… Boats would come and go.
