Deb and I managed to get away for an overnight out under the stars. I’ve always wanted to camp at this little secluded lake….and the timing worked perfect. With this lake not visible from most accessible places, it doesn’t see many people. It was nice to be alone with Deb in such a beautiful setting.
The Fly’n Pumpkin got us up this crappy road until stopped by a fallen tree…so this is where we start…
Moments later we saw a black bear up the road…wasn’t quick enough to get a pic, so all you get to see is the road 🙂
Still large patches of snow on the abandoned road…
I’ve never had to thrash through a thick road bed of young cedar trees…cool!
The shortest route between two points in the forest…is always the log…
Beautiful forest around the lake…
Three Fingered Jack, Mount Washington, North Middle and South Sister, The Husband, and Coffin Mtn in the Foreground (left to right)
Mount Jefferson and almost a full moon…
Mount Jefferson in the alpenglow…
Camp the next morning, and warmth from the fire…
Keyhole through the rock way above the lake…
