Table Rock 5-11-24

Table Rock…

Been a while since we’ve been in the Table Rock Wilderness. Today we planned to hit Table Rock and the Pechuck Lookout, but the deep snow got in the way of that. We ended up only having the energy to make it to the summit of Table Rock. It was pretty much snow all the way. We had our doubts that the boulder field would be safe enough to cross, but it really wasn’t that bad, the snow was still deep enough, no one punched through. The weather was perfect, cool air and warm sun…

Good day out with Deb.

About a mile from the trailhead, snow most of the way…

The boulder field still had enough snow, that punching through was limited.

At the end of the boulder field, where you go back into the forest. Some of the southern aspects were snow free…

Summit Ridge…

Mount Jefferson…

Mount Hood…

Can you see the Pechuck Lookout?

Can you see the Snowshoe Hare?

The Day’s track…

Nice pictures to know what’s up there still. Maybe a bit less now. I see you took the shortcut either down or up and also a little shortcut from the top which I have done now and then when there is that much snow. Cute picture of the little bunny hiding.

Did you make it to Pechuck Lookout? I haven’t been since the fires and was wondering how the snow (or lack of) is? Also if you could recommend another moderate-ish hike with an hour or two of Silverton I’d appreciate that. I’ve done so many of the popular ones was looking for ideas. Thanks!
