Bad Banks Creek Canyoneer 1-1-19

I’ve been looking at the falls on Bad Banks Creek for a few weeks. I’ve seen them on Google Earth but never up close. I knew there was at least two falls over 150’ tall. The toughest part of the research was finding the best approach and exit.
I finally was able to talk a couple of fellow nut-cases into this adventure. Turned out to be a real blast! Today’s team included Keith and Haruka…
I came up with a route that would optimize all that this drainage has to offer…in a one day’s trip. Sure, there’s other things in this drainage, but I think today’s route took us to the main points of interest…for a canyoneer.
7-raps, 6-falls, snowy approach, and a thrashy exit = Fun Shit!!

Park here…

…with a short approach…

…to our first rap into the drainage.

Falls 1 – 150′

Hmmm…found a pinnacle

Falls 2 – 30′ Best picture I got of it…

Falls 3 – 50′

Then after a short road walk to the west fork, Falls 4 – 70′

Falls 5 – 45′

Falls 6 – 190′ Probably call this one Bad Banks Falls…

Today’s track…
