Sandstone Creek Canyoneer 11-17-18

Sandstone Creek, middle fork. 7-raps, 6-falls…

The approach was a bit thrashy, but once off the ridge it was a nice descent through the old growth with some nice Cedar stands. The rappelling started with a short “down & dirty” drop into a sub drainage just above the first set of falls…then 6-more raps over falls.

Today’s trip took 4.75 hrs. truck to truck…with a team of seven. I would rate the water flow at low to moderate low.

Beautiful sunny day, although no sun for us being deep in the canyon…

Gearing up…

After the Rhody thrash, descending into the drainage…

…through some very nice old growth…

First falls…two tier

Both tiers…

Love the snag with all the conks… Conk Falls 🙂

Upper Sandstone Falls…Kinda messy with all the logs…

From the top of Lower Sandstone Falls…
