Devils Tower, Mount Rushmore, and Crazy Horse Memorial…South Dakota…
Devils Tower has a hike around trail. Saw some climbers gearing up at the bottom. With binoculars we could see the old ladder that was used to climb the tower in the olden days.
Mount Rushmore was very crowded. There is an extensive deck and stairway system at the base, giving great views of the carving. What looked like a boulder field below the carvings was actually the blocks that were part of the mountain before they dynamited it. Pretty interesting…
We could not get very close to the Crazy Horse Memorial, but got a pretty good look through the binoculars. Long way to go.
