Two Falls Saturday 5-9-20

Been wanting to check these falls out since first seeing them last November. Wow!

We hiked the road up to where we thought we could drop down above the falls. When we hit the creek we noticed a 30’ low angle falls above us…we decided to not climb up and rap it. About 100 yards we came to a 60’ falls. We anchored off an old tree root ball that was lodged at the top of the falls. Very nice falls…

Another 100 yards down creek was the top of the falls we came for… It starts out as a narrow channel where the whole creek snakes down about 60’-70’ to a landing with half a dozen nice Alder trees. Very committing, no way out except down. That’s why we chose, not today. We found an escape route down next to the falls. Wow, quite the fire-hose. The upper portion of these falls has three steps before falling 20’ where it turns into a fire hose, shooting half the creek 150’ down canyon.

Since we couldn’t see the bottom from the top, and the fact there was a lot of water today, we did not rappel these falls.

When we got back to the truck, it was about 12:30…lots of time to go hit French Fry Falls

Fun day in the creek…

Gotta have the clearance and tires to get here…

Warning?

We dropped in here… Next time we’ll drop in above it…

Mustard Sauce Falls…60′

Nice falls…

Looking down into the Alder Room…

Zoomed in what’s after the Alder Room…

40′-50′ chute down to the Alder Room…

WTF?? Trying to get a better look at the main falls… Looks like someone opened the fire hydrant…

Our escape route…

First good look at Packed in Water Falls…

Zoomed in shot of the top chute coming out of the Alder Room…

Crazy fire hose…

Probably 60%-70% of the water in this creek is being shot out here…

After a 30 min drive and a 60 min approach, we were standing at the top of French Fry Falls. A bit more water than the last time I was here…

After yarding myself out of the swimmer pothole, getting ready to drop the rest…

Nice flow today…

Deb making her way down…

BOO!!

Last little bit…

A look back at French Fry Falls…
